Now Offering Veterinary Externships

Burlington Emergency Veterinary Specialists offers two, four-week externships to fourth-year veterinary students.

Externships are offered year-round (with the exception of June). Externs work for an average of 40 hours/week and have the opportunity to work alongside board-certified veterinary specialists in Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Physical Therapy, as well as our experienced team of Emergency veterinarians.

Extern Responsibilities

Our high caseload means that our externs are likely to see a variety of veterinary medical and surgical conditions. Externship students are expected to participate in both inpatient and outpatient care including pet patient rounds, discussion of appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, and selected hands-on procedures.
