Now Offering Veterinary Technician Externships

Burlington Emergency Veterinary Specialists (BEVS) offers a summer Veterinary Technician Externship Program for current veterinary technology students. The program is designed for veterinary technician students who are required to complete an externship and are seeking additional training and experience at an animal emergency and specialty hospital.

Technician Externship Program

Veterinary technician students will work closely with BEVS veterinarians, client care coordinators, certified veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants. The externship will provide a structured clinical experience supervised by a credentialed veterinary technician in a variety of areas, including Anesthesia, Dental, Emergency Medicine, Exotics, ICU nursing, Internal Medicine, Laboratory, Neurology, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, and Surgery.

Externs will have many opportunities for participation or observation in advanced medical, emergency, and surgical cases. The program runs from the end of May through the beginning of August. Daily schedules will vary.
