Leading-Edge Diagnostic Technology

We care deeply about your pet’s health, which is why we invested in leading-edge diagnostic technology to ensure a timely and accurate diagnosis. Our specialty services range from dentistry to internal medicine to neurology and beyond, so having modern equipment in place gives our team access to everything they need to provide the greatest care for your pet.

In addition, we have an in-house laboratory, enabling us to perform a wide range of tests and get rapid results.

Neurology

Our Neurology department, led by board-certified veterinary neurologist Allison Cowan, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology), is equipped with CT and MRI capabilities. These tools are used for the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, muscles, or nerves.

Internal Medicine

Technology present in our Internal Medicine department includes digital X-ray, ultrasound, echocardiography, CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and interventional radiology. Led by medical director and board-certified veterinary internist Bryan Harnett, DVM, DACVIM, our Internal Medicine team uses these tools to diagnose and treat conditions that may be affecting your pet’s internal body systems including bleeding disorders, endocrine or infectious diseases, gastrointestinal issues, and much more.

Dentistry

Board-certified veterinary dentist Bill Kellner, DVM, DAVDC, leads our Dentistry department and uses a wide range of imaging capabilities to help assess your pet’s oral health. This includes digital dental radiography, CT, and MRI. With these, Dr. Kellner can diagnose the stages of periodontal and endodontic disease as well as view missing teeth, jaw fractures, and oral tumors.

Exotics

Jordan Adair, DVM, DABVP (Avian) heads up our Exotics department and provides exotic pets with routine wellness care as well as care when they are sick or injured. These patients have access to specialized housing, high-quality digital X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and our in-house laboratory.

Ophthalmology

Our board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists—Sarah Hoy, DVM, MS, DACVO, and Courtenay Brines, DVM, MS, DACVO—bring years of experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of animal eye conditions. Ophthalmology patients have access to an endolaser, tonometer, slit lamp, and Finoff Transilluminator to assess the health of their eyes.

Surgery

BEVS Surgery department, led by board-certified veterinary surgeon Jacob Helmick and Alexandra Kuvaldina, DVM (Practice Limited to Surgery), offers a full range of surgical services and has sophisticated diagnostic imaging equipment. Through CT, MRI, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound, our team can ensure the most accurate pre-surgical planning and postoperative management.

Emergency & Critical Care

Our 24-hour Emergency and Critical Care department is equipped with the technology and supplies needed for managing all types of life-saving situations. With access to an in-house diagnostic laboratory for rapid test results, our ER also boasts a sophisticated digital radiography system, FAST (focused assessment with sonography for trauma) ultrasound, and two systems for monitoring blood pressure: an oscillometric system that gathers computer-generated readings and a Doppler that uses ultrasound to detect blood pressure by sound frequency changes.
