Urgent Care at BEVS
Available Friday-Sunday 10am to 7am
Same day only
When your pet needs medical attention but the situation isn’t life-threatening, urgent care in Williston, VT at Burlington Emergency and Veterinary Specialists (BEVS) provides timely, compassionate support. Our urgent care service bridges the gap between your regular veterinarian and emergency care, ensuring your pet receives prompt evaluation and treatment for issues that require same-day attention.
When to Choose Urgent Care
Urgent care is designed for conditions that can be assessed, treated, and resolved within a short period. These visits are appropriate when your pet needs attention soon but can safely wait for a scheduled appointment.
Common reasons to schedule an urgent care appointment include:
- Hot spots, rashes, or other skin concerns
- Ear infections or head shaking
- Urinary tract infections
- Limping or minor lameness
- Small wounds, cuts, or abrasions
- Vomiting or diarrhea (when the pet is otherwise stable)
Appointment and Deposit Policy
Because urgent care appointments are limited, a $200 deposit is required to reserve your time. This amount is applied toward the cost of your visit. The deposit is non-refundable for missed appointments, ensuring availability for pets in need.
If you are uncertain about your availability, it’s best to wait until you can confirm your schedule. You’re also welcome to contact us later in the day to check for remaining appointment times. Should urgent care be full, our emergency department remains open for walk-in cases.
What to Expect at Your Visit
After scheduling, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. While we make every effort to keep appointments on time, delays may occur due to the unpredictable nature of emergency medicine. Our client care coordinators are available to answer questions and provide updates throughout your visit.
If the urgent care team determines that your pet requires more advanced diagnostics or intensive care, your case will be seamlessly transferred to our emergency department. Your deposit will be applied toward emergency services, and our staff will explain any anticipated wait times or next steps.
When Urgent Care May Not Be the Right Fit
Some cases require a more comprehensive evaluation than urgent care can provide. Pets that may not qualify for urgent care include those:
- Recently treated elsewhere but not improving
- Recovering from surgery and showing new complications
- Recently hospitalized at BEVS or seen through our emergency service and still declining
For compassionate and efficient urgent care in Williston, VT, Burlington Emergency and Veterinary Specialists provide trusted medical support when your pet needs it most. Contact us today to schedule an appointment or discuss whether urgent care is right for your pet.
