The internal medicine technician assistant works collaboratively with the internists as well as the technical support staff to ensure high-quality patient and client care.

Job Description

Technician Assistants performs a variety of patient and client care duties. This person communicates clearly with veterinarians, technicians and other hospital personnel, and clients to ensure that patients receive the care they need. Technician Assistants are friendly and flexible in the face of varying expectations from clients and coworkers. They multi-task, prioritize tasks well, and think creatively.

Technician Assistants strongly believe in the quality of care provided and communicate this sense of assurance to clients. The Technician Assistant provides for patient and client comfort by keeping the hospital clean and presentable.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: providing team-based support in the exam rooms as well as procedure rooms and providing client care through advanced customer service and representation. The internal medicine technician assistant provides support throughout all department procedures, including but not limited to phlebotomy, advanced diagnostic imaging, endoscopy and radioactive iodine treatment.

  • Provide compassionate patient care in exam rooms and procedure rooms, keeping patients clean, dry, and comfortable
  • Provide support throughout all department procedures, including but not limited to phlebotomy, advanced diagnostic imaging, endoscopy and radioactive iodine treatment
  • Provide safe and effective patient restraint
  • Provide client care through advanced customer service and representation
  • Use proper safety techniques and positioning for radiological procedures
  • Walk, clean, and feed patients
  • Run routine lab work in the in-house pharmacy
  • Keep hospital clean and stocked using in-house inventory control procedures

This is a full-time position, Tuesday through Friday 8am to 6pm. Pay range is $15-18/hr depending on experience.
