Surgery

What is a Surgeon

Small animal surgeons are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of surgical problems including orthopedic, soft tissue, cancer and neurologic surgery. Surgeons keep up-to-date on the latest procedures and advances in technology through continuing education courses, seminars, journal articles, and strong relationships with their colleagues. They also collaborate with other specialists and referral veterinarians to ensure the best care for your pet.

Training involves at least one year of internship after completion of veterinary school and then three years of residency focused on surgical knowledge, hand skills, techniques and procedures. We are trained in all aspects of surgery for your pet.
