After Surgery

As your pet recovers from anesthesia, we will continue to monitor them closely to ensure they are stable and are resting comfortably. Some patients will need to remain in our ICU for 24 hours or more. Your pets’ recovery begins here, but the greatest amount will be completed at home with your loving care. Dr. Mallinckrodt and her nurses will give you detailed instructions at discharge, including information ranging from medications to physical therapy. It is imperative for success that you understand each step of the process so we encourage that you ask questions. BEVS is open 365 days a year, day and night. Please call us at any time to check on your pet or ask us questions once your pet is home with you. We are proud to be the only hospital in the area staffed by a licensed veterinarian at all times.
