    Whitney Durivage, MBA, CVPM

    Hospital Administrator

    Whitney joined our client care team in 2009 and took over the role as Hospital Manager in 2012. She earned her MBA from Champlain College and BS in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire. Whitney is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) and enjoys learning about everything that is veterinary medicine. She says her favorite part of working at BEVS is being able to work with the talented and fun doctors and staff.

    Elise Forgues

    Office Manager

    Elise is a native of Vermont and has been in the veterinary business as technician and manager for the last 30 years. She joined BEVS as our office manager in the spring of 2007 and does an excellent job keeping everyone on track with managing employee benefits, staff payroll and she pays our bills! Elise shares home with her husband Roger and an assortment of spoiled (but adorable) animals.

    Jennifer LaDouceur

    Jen graduated with a Bachelors degree, major in Geography (with Honors Recognition), from Northeastern Illinois University and an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Oakton College, Illinois. Prior to her move to Vermont she performed technician as well as administrative and client care duties at veterinary hospitals in Chicago, Illinois. In her free time she enjoys reading, dance and bike-riding. Jen has a cat named Pixie and a mixed breed dog, Gepetto.

    April Pillsbury

    April has a wide background in the administrative and veterinary field. She is a veteran and worked with VES for many years before BEVS was born in 2005. She has taken veterinary technician courses through Purdues online tech program.

    Jennifer Fielder

    Jennifer joined our client care team in May 2016. Jennifer brings over 13 years of administrative experience to our hospital and is excited to combine her experience with her passion for animals. Jennifer is an avid animal lover and has a special place in her heart for special need and senior dogs. She and her husband have opened their home to 7 rescue dogs, what a lucky bunch of pups!

    Lee Dorf, LVT

    Emergency Technician Manager

    Lee graduated from the University of Vermont in 2009 with a BS in Biological Science and a minor in Holocaust Studies. He worked as a technician in a pediatric cancer research laboratory throughout his undergraduate career, and was subsequently a veterinary technician at UVM for five years. Since then Lee has achieved his Master’s degree in Public Health from UMass Amherst, and earned his veterinary technician license (LVT) in 2014. In addition to moonlighting at BEVS, Lee currently works at the Vermont Department of Health. When not working, he likes kayaking, traveling and hanging out with his intrepid cat, Ninja (featured above).

    Jo Collemer, CVT

    Emergency, Lead Technician

    Jo graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Animal Medical Technology (With Highest Distinction) from the University of Maine, Orono in 1976. Since then she has worked at practices in Maine, where she is licensed, and in Vermont, where she is certified. Nursing and surgery care are the two areas on which she enjoys and her varied jobs at BEVS and VTCAN! She is an original member of the Vermont Veterinary Technicians Association (VVTA), she is a five term VVTA secretary/certification coordinator; a “job” that allows her to enjoy contact with many other technicians throughout Vermont, New Hampshire and New York. Jo has lived in Middlesex for 25 years with a “herd” of cats. Among her other interests are sports, gardening, reading, and feral cat rescue.

    Justa Malone, CVT

    Justa is charged with BEVS’ state-of-the-art laboratory department. She wa s born, raised and currently resides in Barre Town, VT. She graduated with an Associates degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Vermont Technical College in May 2004 and in December of the same year; she also finished up a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from the University of Vermont. Before joining the BEVS team in 2005, she spent 13 years as a volunteer and later the Supervisor and CVT at the Central Vermont Humane Society. She loves playing with her two rescue dogs: Border Collie mix “Riley” and Australian Shepherd “Atticus.” Outside of work, she enjoys pet-sitting, swimming, and Zumba.

    Jenn Grenier

    Jenn is a member of our overnight veterinary nursing staff, and has been with BEVS since 2005. In 2000 she began her career as a veterinary technician at Onion River Animal Hospital and worked there for six years while attending UVM and pursuing a degree in the animal sciences. For the past three years Jenn has taken on the task of inventory and ordering for BEVS. Jenn currently lives in Milton with her boyfriend, her black lab Duke and their nine year-old greyhound. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding with her 14 year old Tobiano paint, Peter Benjamin, hiking with her dogs, and spending time with friends.

    Stacy Mabee

    Stacy has been working as a veterinary technician at BEVS since 2009. She has held many roles in the animal industry including a position as an animal control officer in Indiana. In 2000, Stacy has also worked at the Chittenden County Humane Society as an adoption counselor. Stacy shares her home with her family and assortment on rescued animals.

    Lupe started at BEVS in 2005 and enjoys the advanced technology, medicine and state-of-the-art facilities at BEVS. She is a mother of two wild and extremely entertaining children and many misfit animals.

    Amy Lynn Barr, CVT, VTS

    Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care

    Amy Lynn Barr has been working in emergency medicine since 1999 and was one of the original technicians at Veterinary Emergency Services before it became BEVS in 2005. She became a technician specialist in emergency and critical care in September 2005 and has been a lecturer at the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium and various other conferences ever since. Amy is a wonderful resource and teacher for all the technicians here at BEVS. In her free time she enjoys exercising her very handsome golden retriever.

    Christina Surprenant, CVT

    Emergency

    Christina became a certified veterinary technician in 2004 and has utilized her skill sets for a variety of positions ever since. She is also the owner and head canine obedience trainer at Tricks for Treats in Essex, VT where she uses positive reinforcement training methods. Christina joined our emergency team in October 2012 and has enjoyed the challenges and excitement of emergency medicine ever since. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and holding puppy training classes.

    Emergency, Lead Technician

    Dez joined our emergency team in the Spring of 2015. Dez graduated with an Animal Science Degree from Mount Ida College, Summa cum laude (smarty pants)! She is a certified veterinary technician and has worked in a variety of emergency hospitals in her career as a vet tech, all the way from Massachusetts to Oregon. Dez is an avid dog lover and gardner.

    Kelly joined our emergency team in the summer of 2014. She moved to Vermont from California in January has experience in a variety of veterinary settings from general practice to emergency and specialty.  Kelly is enjoying the Vermont life with her Labrador retriever.

    Holly joined our hospital in May, 2016 as a veterinary technician assistant and member of our client care team. Holly is a graduate of UVM and worked as a technician assistant at Richmond Animal Hospital after graduation. She has been running her own pet sitting business since October and is also a certified yoga instructor.

    Devan joined our hospital as a surgical assistant in May 2015. She has recently made the switch and spends her time in our emergency department nights, weekends and holidays. Devan enjoys distance running and shadow boxing.

    Emily joined our emergency team in the spring of 2014. She joins us with experience in general practice, emergency/specialty practice and large animal. Emily enjoys the fast pace and variety in emergency and critical care. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her horse Armada.

    Siobhan joined our emergency team in the summer of 2015. She graduated with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2013. Siobhan has worked in primary practice and most recently at a large multi-specialty/emergency practice where she was an emergency and critical care technician.

    Lindsay Hancock, CVT

    Lindsay joined our emergency team in the fall of 2014 and a few months later joined our Internal Medicine team. Lindsay spent time working in general practice up until and partially during her technical program. During school, Lindsay worked as an intern in a large multi-specialty practice in Colorado where she gained a great deal of experience handling high volume and critical emergency cases. In her free time, Lindsay hits the slopes and spends time with her rescue pup, Mango.

    Brenna Mousaw, CVT, VTS (Internal Medicine)

    Internal Medicine Supervisor

    Brenna is Internal Medicine’s head veterinary technician. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1999, from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Science degree and from Harcum College in 2004 with an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. After obtaining her certification as a veterinary technician, she completed a year internship at the University of Pennsylvania’s Large and Small animal hospitals. Brenna took the next step in her career and passed her board exam becoming a technician specialist in Internal Medicine in the summer of 2012.  Becoming a VTS is a huge accomplishment in veterinary medicine and she has joined a network of innovative technicians who are dedicated to advancing the skills and profession in the discipline of internal medicine.  While not working, Brenna enjoys kayaking, backpacking, and hiking with her family and their dog Roscoe.

    Michelle Senna, CVT

    Internal Medicine

    Michelle graduated valedictorian in 1993 from Mt. Ida College with a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology. She then completed a yearlong internship at the Animal Medical Center in NYC where she became licensed. After living and working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Manhattan for five years, she moved back to her home state of Vermont where she joined our Internal Medicine team. Michelle shares her home with her family and their two cats, Kiko and Olivia. When Michelle is not working she enjoys hiking, yoga and kayaking.

    Katherine Edwards, CVT

    Internal Medicine

    Katherine is one of our Internal Medicine veterinary technicians. Katherine graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2004 where she received degrees in Psychology and Sociology. She then attended Vermont Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program in 2007. During this time, Katherine completed her internship with BEVS emergency team in the summer of 2008 and went on to graduate in 2009. Since joining the Internal Medicine team, Katherine’s interests are oncology and feline radioiodine therapy. When Katherine is not working, she enjoys live music, traveling, photography, and her beloved Golden Retriever, Jack.

    Katie FitzPatrick, CVT

    Katie was born and raised in Vermont’s beautiful Northeast Kingdom. Katie graduated from Johnson State College in 2005 with a BS in biology and a minor in chemistry. She went on to graduate from Vermont Technical College’s veterinary technician program in 2008 and joined our emergency team later that fall. Katie is a jack of all trades and although her primary focus is Internal Medicine, she also works with our surgery and emergency teams. She has interests in home improvement and remodeling, hiking with her dog Murphy, and rooting for her favorite hockey team (go Pens!). She lives with her dog and assortment of black cats.

    Michelle Carroll, CVT

    Surgery Supervisor

    Michelle is one of our Surgery technicians but because of her diverse background she also jumps in and helps with Internal Medicine and Emergency. Michelle worked an an ER technician with BEVS from 2006-2008 and then gained experience working with specialists in surgery/anesthesia, and internal medicine. When Michelle is not at BEVS she volunteers as a therapy dog handler with Therapy Dogs of Vermont. Michelle is the mother of two Labrador retrievers, Ritter and Odin.
